Brief overview:
As a means of introducing candidates to additional Lean tools and service improvement concepts. A number of bite size courses have been created to facilitate more targeted learning.
This targeted session focuses on the concept of patient flow within the NHS. In healthcare flow is defined as the movement of patients, information or equipment between departments, staff groups or organisations, as part of their care pathway.
As part of the session staff will explore how patient variation, process design and waiting all impact on a patients journey through the system. As well as how we track flow once our designated part of the process has been completed.
Key learning outcomes:
· An general over view of flow
· Flow and its main parameters
· Patient variation
· Process design
· A break out activity to put concepts into practice
We want all our delegates to get the very best from their learning experience. If you have any additional needs that we need to be aware of that will help you to have a more enjoyable day then please let us know in confidence. We can then adapt our resources and activities to support you.
