Course Overview: This session is designed to help managers and team leaders develop skills and knowledge to enable a successful outcome for business cases. The session will explain the business cases approval process for capital and revenue.

  • Understand the different approval routes for capital and revenue.
  • When a business case is needed, either short or full.
  • How finance support links into the business case including overheads and contribution to overheads.
  • Impact on other services.
  • Strategic Fit and assurance.
  • Different types of business case, either invest to save or invest for quality purposes.
  • How the business case links to activity.
  • External funding business cases.
  • Charitable fund business cases.

Target audience:

South Tees NHS trust staff

Recommended for individuals moving into their first managerial position or who have been in a managerial role for a while but haven’t undertaken management training or feel in need of a refresher. If you are a non-medical registrant who is eligible for Continual Professional Development (CPD) funding this course will account as part of your annual allowance for CPD funding.
