Course overview:
A one-day course that will support attendees to develop a range of clinical and practical skills. The course focuses on developing the clinical skills and competencies that are essential in advanced clinical practice
Key Learning Outcomes:
The following practical skills are covered on the course:
- IV cannulation including the use of ultrasound to assist insertion
- Arterial blood gas sampling
- Injection of local anaesthetic to skin
- Introduction to suturing and knot tying
- Perform and interpret peak flow
- Interpretation of spirometry
- Urethral catheterisation (male)
- Urethral catheterisation (female)
Target Audience:
This course is aimed at allied health professionals and nurses who are either in advanced clinical practice training or who are preparing to develop their advanced clinical practice knowledge and skills
