Course Overview:

A progression from the previous session of An Introduction to Human Factors, this lesson goes on to discuss the implementation of Human Factors into the clinical environment in order to increase patient safety.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discussing what makes a ‘good’ team, exploring the impacts of ‘bad’ team dynamics and patient care.
  • Safety ‘I + II’ and their impact on patient safety
  • ‘Gap Theory’ and complacency
  • Application to real life cases

Target Audience:

All staff- medical and non-medical. Prior basic Human Factors training advised.
