Course Overview

Are you an established, aspiring or early-career researcher in medicine or health?
Please join us for our Academic Centre for Surgery (ACeS) event dedicated to supporting the development of clinical academic careers across professions in the NHS.

The event will provide opportunity to:
– Present your work
– Bring together researchers, clinicians, and allied health professionals (AHPs) to share insights and build networks
– Provide information on funding opportunities and guidance on grant writing including workshops.

The event will run as below:
9:00 am to 9:30 am: Registration and refreshments.
9:30 am to 12:30 pm: Please join us for talks in the Ian Haslock Lecture Theatre.
12:30 pm to 1:30 pm: Lunch, networking and posters in David Kenward.
1:30 pm to 3:00 pm: Afternoon workshops. Registration to these workshops is limited to 40 places each.
Workshop 1: Developing your project ideas.
Workshop 2: Grant writing.

Posters:
We are inviting colleagues to present posters on their research, service evaluations and/or audits. We have a limited number of places available.

This event is open to NHS staff interested in research or academic careers, including: 

  • Fellows or Resident Doctors
  • Early Career Researchers

  • Surgeons in Training
  • Chief or Principal Investigators
