Brief overview:

We are organizing a half day urological skills session in order to help you become more confident in managing common clinical scenarios. Whether you are an aspiring urologist or just doing a surgical or ED job in the coming year, this course is aimed at you!

Key learning outcomes:

The session will comprise of 5 stations with following key outcomes in mind:

  • Identify different types of catheter and indications for each
  • Perform male and female catheters
  • Perform a bladder washout
  • Perform a scrotal examination and identify common pathologies
  • Perform prostate examination and what to look for

Target audience:

This course is aimed at 4th and 5th year medical students, foundation doctors years 1 and 2, specialist nurses, advanced nurse practitioners and surgical nurse practitioners.
