Brief overview:

This course will enable you to develop the skills to critically analyse medical/nursing research papers. You will be able to appraise the paper and assess its validity and usefulness.

Key outcomes:

  • Analyse a paper using checklists.
  • Spot errors in papers.
  • Identifying bias.
  • Develop a methodological approach to reading research.
  • Understanding different study designs.
  • Understanding data and how it is presented in a paper.

Any South Tees staff that are interested in developing their skills in how to analyse and appraise a medical/nursing/allied health research paper.
