Course Overview:

This session introduces attendees to the core concepts of Human Factors and its application within the safety critical, healthcare environment. This interactive lecture delves into the 6 Non-Technical Skills that shape human interaction with process, whilst the latter part focuses on Patient Safety through a Human Factors lens. This 3-hour course combines the previous ‘Introduction to Human Factors’ and ‘A Human Factors Approach to Patient Safety’.

Learning Objectives:

  • Enhance basic understanding of Human Factors
  • Discuss the application of Safety 1 + 2 and understand Gap Theory
  • Discuss non-technical skills
  • Apply the principles of Human Factors to Patient Safety

Target Audience:

All staff- medical and non-medical. This course is free to all workforce with South and North Tees.
