Course Overview:
This course is designed to equip senior managers with the Trust requirements for reporting and managing safeguarding allegations against staff members, or others they encounter who work with children or vulnerable adults who may pose a risk.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the guidance they need to follow when safeguarding children and adults at risk.
- Understand the roles and responsibilities of managers, HR and the safeguarding team.
- Understand how they can support colleagues through the process.
- Understand the role of the Local Authorities – LADO and the PIPOT.
- Know hot to manage an investigation.
- Understand when and how to refer to the DBS.
- Understand when to involve a professional body.
- Be aware of the Trust Allegations Policy P78.

Late arrivals:
If attendees arrive more than 20 minutes late of the session time, they may be refused entry. In this instance, by assessing the impact of missed learning and the impact on other attendees, a decision would be made by the session facilitator to either allow the attendee entry to the session or ask them to rebook.
