A one-day course that aims to teach attendees a logical approach to develop skills in anticipation, identification and management of a difficult airway which could help them manage a difficult situation.

By the end of the course you will have gained knowledge and skills in:

  • Broad principles in managing a neonatal airway and how to escalate it as a neonatal emergency
  • Tools and equipment needed in managing a difficult airway
  • Team working, communication and other human factors in an emergency situation.  

The day will include lectures, hands on experience with video laryngoscopes, simulations, discussions around the BAPM airway framework and the opportunity to talk with experts about any issues that are applicable to your current practice.

The course is limited to 24 candidates and delivered by a multi-disciplinary faculty in anaesthesia, fetal medicine, ENT and neonatology.

We welcome applications from neonatal / paediatric consultants, senior trainees in paediatrics, neonatal trainees and advanced nurse practitioners.

Course fees £200 per delegate including refreshments and lunch. A discounted rate of £100 is available to trainees and advanced nurse practitioners please email [email protected] to access this rate.

On successful completion of the course you will receive a certificate of attendance.
