The Leadership, Improvement and Safety Academy, within STRIVE, is delighted to offer a new development programme designed for senior clinical and operational managers in the Trust. 

The programme comprises six full day training and development sessions, cohorting senior leaders across all disciplines and specialities to support networks of practice across disciplines and service lines while also ensuring opportunities for networking and relationship building to strengthen teamwork and collaboration.

Programme = 6 x Full Day sessions 

Session 1 – Insights and What we wish we’d known before… Insights Discovery, with your own bespoke profile, coaching, introductions and facilitated conversations with interesting senior leaders including our Chair, Derek Bell 

Session 2 – Leadership and Coaching Skills : Strategic leadership skills, and introduction to a coaching techniques 

Session 3 – improvement, Project Management and Business Cases: Improvement tools and techniques, project management basics, tricks for delivering sustainable projects, business cases and  benefits realisation 

Session 4 – Safety, Civility and Moral Injury / Presenting with confidence and flair: how can we create and sustain positive cultures, and delivering engaging messages 

Session 5 – Transactional management @ Senior level: managing finance at senior level, and restorative approaches to workforce management  

Session 6 – Assertiveness and Difficult conversations / Next steps: Identify the 4 cornerstones of assertiveness, how confidence plays a role in assertive conversations and techniques for assertiveness, building trust and ownership of outcomes, identify and manage aggressive, assertive or submissive behaviours, giving and receiving feedback in an assertive way, saying no and sticking to it

 The structure offers a combination of leadership and practical management skills training designed to be able to flex according to the specific needs of the cohort. Please note sessions will be whole day sessions from 9.00am to 4.00pm
