We are pleased to offer an immersive Simulation‑Based Learning Course designed specifically for GP Trainees, focusing on key clinical and professional competencies required in secondary care and transitional settings.
Course Overview:
This high‑fidelity simulation course provides a safe, supportive environment for trainees to practise managing complex clinical scenarios commonly encountered in secondary care. The course promotes reflective learning and strengthens technical and non -technical skills essential for patient safety, effective communication, and multidisciplinary working. This course would employ Scenario‑based simulation stations and faculty-led debriefs focusing on reflection and learning.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate best practice in the disclosure of medical errors, including open, honest, and empathetic communication with patients and relatives.
- Understand the importance of accurate and structured handover, recognising its critical role in patient safety and continuity of care.
- Confidently assess and manage palliative care patients, addressing symptom control, communication challenges, and holistic care needs.
- Diagnose and manage acute clinical presentations within a secondary care setting, applying clinical reasoning and escalation principles appropriate to GP trainees.
- Work effectively within multidisciplinary teams, understanding roles, responsibilities, and collaborative decision‑making.
- Practical, hands‑on experience in a psychologically safe environment
