Course overview:
This course will provide an insight into the complex nutritional issues that we all face daily within our areas, and will develop knowledge surrounding safeguarding, understanding tube feeding and options to refeeding. Through simulation based education, this course aims to improve team working skills, as participants will have the opportunity to experience a holistic multidisciplinary team approach, allowing the development of both technical and non-technical skills.
Target Audience: South Tees HCA’s, Nurses and Foundation Doctors

• Understand complex nutrition
• Recognise complications in relation to nutrition
• Demonstrate A-E assessment
• Understand mental capacity and decision making around nutrition
• Make appropriate referrals to the wider multidisciplinary team
• Build confidence in patient assessment and multidisciplinary team working
