Overview:
This programme aims to enhance multidisciplinary competence in the assessment, delivery, and escalation of complex nutritional care. Simulation-based teaching provides participants with a safe, realistic environment to practise clinical management, collaborative communication, and the effective management of high-risk nutritional scenarios.
Learning objectives:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of complex nutritional needs in the acute setting.
- Apply national standards, local policies, and safety frameworks for enteral and parental nutrition.
- Strengthen clinical reasoning for initiating, monitoring and adjusting nutrition therapy.
- Demonstrate effective teamwork, role clarity, and handover communication.
- Recognise and escalate risks, including refeeding syndrome, line sepsis, and tube displacement.
- Improve confidence in patient-centred care and shared decision-making during ethically challenging cases.
Target audience:
This is event is for Doctors and registered Nurses who are part of UHT. If you do not meet this critera your booking will be removed.
