Brief Overview:

A department can look well run and still be a place where people keep quiet. The rota works, the teaching happens, and nobody mentions the team members everyone warns the new starters about.

One day on the culture you are actually running, and on the moment it is tested. You leave with a framework for examining it and concrete steps you can take before your next rotation arrives.

By the end of the day, you will be able to:

  • Use practical exercises and a framework to examine the learning environment  and culture your trainees are working inside, and then strengthen it
  • Apply the Sexual Safety Charter to everyday clinical practice, recognising where the line sits and what your responsibility is when it is crossed
  • Respond to a disclosure of sexual misconduct with the first five minutes handled well, including what to say, what to record and who to involve
  • Agree concrete steps for your own department that survive the walk back from the workshop
